This food market is the oldest market in Palma and has existed for over 100 years. The building, the market hall, was built around 1920 and in 1978 it was divided into individual stalls. In 2000 the roof had to be renewed and in 2005 visitors could enjoy public toilets. In general, the market is an important meeting point for locals and tourists who want to buy fresh food and traditional Mallorcan products.
