Palau March Museum in Palma

The Palau March Museum in Palma de Mallorca is a very special place that will delight art lovers and history buffs alike. This unique museum offers its visitors a collection of works of art, sculptures and books.

History Palau March Museum

The Palau March Museum is located in a beautiful palace that once served as the residence of the March family. This was considered one of the most influential families on Mallorca. It is therefore not surprising that they were able to have such an imposing building, the Palau March, built. The building is said to have been erected between 1939 and 1944.

This was made possible above all by Joan March Ordinas, who was mainly active in banking. To this day, the name is omnipresent and represented above all by the “Banca March”.

In 2003, the building was opened to the public. Since then, the palace is hosting the well-known Bartolome March Foundation.

Art Gallery Of Highest Class

The Palau March Museum houses an impressive collection of sculptures and paintings by renowned artists such as Henry Moore and Eduardo Chillida. These contemporary artworks are skilfully placed in the historic rooms as well as the courtyards of the palace.

Wooden sculptures on religious themes can also be admired in the palace. There is also a book room with manuscripts and unique collections of nautical maps. Those who would also like to indulge themselves musically have the opportunity to attend regular concerts in the inner courtyard.

In this way, each artwork tells its own story and invites visitors to immerse themselves in the artists’ world of thought. Why not visit the museum!

Location Museum

The museum is in a prime location, right next to the cathedral. From here you can stroll leisurely into the city centre or take a walk along the harbour. After your visit to the museum, you can of course indulge in some culinary delights.
